Under normal circumstances, after ordinary cement concrete paste hardens, a large number of pores will appear in the internal structure of the paste, and pores are the main factor affecting the strength of concrete. In recent years, with the further study of concrete, it is found that the bubbles introduced during concrete mixing are the main reason for the pores inside and on the surface of the concrete after hardening. After trying to add concrete defoamer, it is found that the strength of concrete has increased significantly.

The formation of bubbles is mainly generated during mixing. The new air entering is wrapped up, and the air cannot escape, so bubbles are formed. Generally, in a liquid with high viscosity, the introduced air is difficult to overflow from the surface of the paste, thus generating a large number of bubbles.

The role of concrete defoamer mainly has two aspects. On the one hand, it inhibits the generation of bubbles in concrete, and on the other hand, it destroys bubbles to make the air in the bubbles overflow.

Adding concrete defoamer can reduce the pores, honeycombs, and pitted surfaces on the surface of concrete, which can effectively improve the apparent quality of concrete; it can also reduce the air content in concrete, increase the density of concrete, and thus improve the strength of concrete.
